Vocational Discernment Process to the Priesthood

What does it mean to be ordained a priest in an Independent Catholic Jurisdiction? How do I fulfill myself as a priest and how do I create a pastoral work, a ministry, for the service of the people of God?

Each person progresses through the discernment process to ordination at their own pace and with our support, as directed by the Holy Spirit.

Application for persons seeking holy orders can be made by submitting the following documents:

  1. A written letter of introduction as a candidate for Holy Orders;

  2. Complete an application for admission to the UACC;

  3. A letter of support from the petitioner's spouse, if this is the case.

Religious Life

How can I live a vocation to religious life inspired by a Franciscan or Benedictine tradition but at the same time adapted to a contemporary way of living? How can the United American Catholic Church (UACC) help me fulfill this call to religious life?

Contemporary religious life can be reflected in a variety of ways: as chaplains, counselors, teachers, musicians, and more. There are those who seek to live a contemplative life, at the service of God and their neighbor, while other people feel God's call along with their family, professional and occupational responsibilities, and vocations. You can find with us a spiritual home in one of our religious communities:

  • Contemporary Benedictines of Peace; and

  • Order of Saints Francis and Clare.

The request of people seeking to discern about religious life can be made by submitting the following documents:

  1. A written letter of introduction as a candidate for the Contemporary Benedictines of Peace or the Order of Saints Francis and Clare;

  2. Complete an application for admission to the UACC;

  3. If this is the case, a letter of support from the petitioner's spouse.
